[f. Gr. ἀντί, expressing equivalence, + µέτρον measure.]
An obsolete instrument ‘called also Reflecting Sector, invented by Mr. Garrard, for measuring small angles with greater accuracy than by the sextant or other instruments commonly used.’ Pantologia (1819).
